Osun Dep.Gov, SRJ, Profs Aina, Ojerinde and others present at Adult Harvest Thanksgiving of Catholic Diocese of Osogbo.




The Deputy Governor State of Osun Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi on Sunday joined the entire congregation of St. Benedict Cathedral of Catholic Diocese of Osogbo in the celebration of Adult Harvest Thanksgiving of the Church.

The event which was climaxed with Mass and Bazaar at the Church Cathedral  Popo Osogbo was presided over by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Osogbo, Most Reverend John Akin Oyejola.

Among the dignitaries that graced the programme include the lawmaker representing  Osun Central Senatorial District at the Senate, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Bashiru who happened to be the Chairman of the programme as well  as Professor Olu Aina, Professor Dibu Ojerinde the For Registrar of JAMB, Senator Olu Alabi and the Chairman of the Osun Health Insurance scheme Hon Adeoye Adelakun who was the distinguished guest of honour at the programme.

The Adult Harvest Thanksgiving service with the theme "Harvest of Gratitude" also featured presentation of awards of  excellence to the Deputy Governor and some personalities who are members of the Church in recognition of their contributions to the work of God and the progress of the church.

A special Thanksgiving was also held in commemoration of the one year anniversary of Governor Gboyega Oyetola's administration in the state of Osun with a special prayer for the success of the administration.

SOKOTO STATE GOVERNMENT ENROLL 75,000 CHILDREN IN SCHOOL.

Sokoto state  government under the Better Education Service Delivery Agency (BESDA) programme has enrolled  over seventy-five thousand children into basic schools in the state last year. Similarly, this year, the state government, under the programme, targets over 90,000 children for enrollment. Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal stated this Wednesday at the official flag-off of BESDA enrolment drive for the year 2020/21. According to Gov. Tambuwal under the programme, over 1,513 integrated Quranic Schools have been created just as teachers have been recruited and provided with books as well as instructional materials. The governor added that since inception of the present administration, education has been given utmost priority through the allocation of higher percentage in budgetary allocation. According to him various programmes have been introduced aimed at improving educational development in the state and assured that, his administration will continue to invest in education....

Over 10,000 security personnel deployed for Kano LG poll

No fewer than 10,000 security personnel have been deployed for the local government council election in Kano scheduled for Saturday Among them are 7,251 police officers, Kano State Police Commissioner, Habu Sani, disclosed on Thursday. Sani, in a statement by spokesman, Abdullahi Haruna, said the security personnel will be in all the 8,084 polling stations of the 747 wards of the 44 councils of the state during the election. "Adequate security arrangements have been put in place to ensure peaceful conduct of the election," he said. The police chief restricted the movement of vehicles, tricycles and motorbikes from 12:pm on Friday until 6:pm Saturday.
